fieldmargin makes easy to use software for farmers to help them to manage their business. Our goal is to make it straight-forward for farmers to keep good farm records by bringing all the information they need into one place to help make better farming decisions.

Our story

fieldmargin originated from the frustrations of founder, Mark, with the outdated farming software that was available when he took over his family’s farming business in Hertfordshire, UK. With his background in software development he knew he could make something better…

As he and the team started looking at how things were done on the farm they noticed how all conversations revolved around a farm map. Whether planning rotations, talking about work or drawing on problem areas. That’s why the fieldmargin app has mapping and visual information at its core.

Since our start in 2014 we have been continually improving the app; adding features based on what our users, farmers, said they wanted and always prioritising keeping the app simple and easy to use.

Today, thousands of farmers around the world use fieldmargin to manage their business, from Australia to Zimbabwe. Farmer feedback is at the core of everything we build.

Is fieldmargin suitable for my type of farm?

fieldmargin is designed to be flexible enough to work with all sorts of farming systems; conventional or regenerative, smallholders or large agri-businesses, crops, livestock, horticulture and more.

Where are you based?

Our team is based in the UK. Our main user base are UK, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, United States and Canada. We have users in over 170 countries from smallholders to large contractors.

Is my data private?

Yes, your data is private to you and members of your farm. We do not sell it to any third-parties. You can find our privacy policy here.

Is my data stored safely with fieldmargin?

Data stored in password protected encrypted databases. Your farm’s information is securely backed up on a daily basis. Click here for the terms and conditions.

Can I produce reports for farm Audits?

Yes, you can. fieldmargin provides maps, filed history, location data and spray input records suitable for reports. These can be viewed online, exported as .pdfs or printed for paper copies.

Can I track my livestock on fieldmargin?

Livestock numbers and locations can be tracked using herds on fieldmargin. You can also attach notes and tasks to herds. Learn more here.

What features are available on the free platform?

On the free platform you can map your farm, draw out permanent features, set-up one herd and invite others to join.

Farms on our free plan can access the last 30 days of notes, tasks and jobs. Full history is available on our paid plans. When you upgrade you will see the records hidden by the free plan’s limits.

How much does a subscription cost?

How much depends how many of our features you’re using. We have three subscription level: Essentials, Plus and Pro. View our feature list and pricing here.

Do all members of the team have access to a subscription?

All team members have access to subscription features. You can have unlimited users on your farm.

How can I upgrade multiple farms?

Subscriptions are done at a farm level, if you have set multiple farms you will need to upgrade each of them. We do offer multi-farm discount and organisation pricing, contact us for details.
